Post 1: A Country I would like to visit

I wish to travel to England, this is a beautiful Country. I want to know London. I would like to visit Big Ben, the beautiful tower, the big clock. I would like to get on London Eye and observe the river Thames, the houses, and the structures of the sector. Another place that I could want to visit is the Royal Palace, this is the Tower of London.

I would wish to visit the Madame Tussauds Museum and see the worldwide celebrities made of wax, I would like to go to see Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, and Lady Di figures.

Another place that would wish to know is the SEA LIFE London aquarium and go to see, Royal Botanic Garden, Westminster abbey and travel on the Big Bus London.

I do not speak English, but I would like to try to speak and know other people.

I would eat typical England food, for example, England breakfast with beans and sausages; Steak and ale pie; salad and Chocolate - orange torte (yum!).

English 3, Post 6, Choice of two topics

PubMed is the page that I will talk about, it is a database where you can find different articles with studies on any topic related to health. In it you can find current and also very old articles related to research. PubMed Central is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM).

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

I visit the page when I have to carry out some research task, where I visit it frequently (such as Google scholar), and once I used it to write a thesis.

One of the main problems with this page is that for some articles you have to pay or pay a subscription (which is expensive if you need to download more than one article). That is why I enclose a second SCI-HUB web page created by the Russian scientist Alexandra Elbakyan, in it you can download it for free, placing the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), although I think it is not entirely legal... but for students and researchers without resources, it is very necessary, that's why I totally recommend them.

English 3, Post 5, 'How can your major make the world a better place'

Chemistry and pharmacy belong to the sciences of health. There are different areas, such as industrial, drug production, quality assurement, among others. But I like the clinical pharmacy area better. And why? Well, maybe it won't be able to change the world, but I can contribute to improving people's health ... All my life I have wanted to contribute to it.

The Clinical pharmacy is a specialty of the health sciences in which the chemical pharmacist develops and promotes the rational and appropriate use of medicinal products. On the other hand, the clinical pharmacist manages the medication therapy of the patient, with other health care professionals.

The clinical pharmacist participates daily in rounds and makes individual pharmaceutical visits in which he reviews and analyzes the source of patient information, for example, clinical records, their daily evolutions, laboratory tests, nursing records, and the establishment’s pharmacy service.

In the future I see myself working at a hospital, involving me in the observation and direct interaction with patients, collaborating in the optimization of the therapy supporting the wellness, the health, and disease prevention. As well, I would like to participate in research that contributes the advances in human health and quality of life.

The clinical pharmacist could help avoid many of the misadventures that occur after inappropriate therapeutic decisions are made at the time of prescribing.

Clinical pharmacists are a primary source of scientifically valid information and advice regarding the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications. Additionally, they contribute to improved health and quality of life.

English 3, Post 4, 'Tell us about a photo (or image) that is meaningful to you'

I chose this photo because appears by the “Linkin Park” vocalist, Chester Bennington. This is my favourite rock/ nu-metal band and brings me back fond memories of the high school, as the first song that I heard was “In the end” in the year 2010 and this showed me, my boyfriend. I loved Chester’s voice and the mix with the Mike Shinoda raps, he is the second vocalist. I remember those summer afternoons in that I walked home for sunset.

This picture is important to me as it was the last photo he appears in, and it was taken days before he decided to commit suicide in 2017. His wife took this photo and posted it on Twitter along with a note: “This was days before my husband took his own life. Suicidal thoughts were there, but you did it. You never know”.

The day of his death was July 20, this day was the birthday of his friend Chris Cornell, who had also committed suicide two months earlier (May). The photo was highly commented and it can be seen that "depression has no face or form".

English 3, Post 3, 'My favourite piece of technology'

My favorite piece of technology is the “Nintendo Switch". This is the best video game console, a console handheld-home hybrid. I can play the games of NES, SNES, and Switch. I like the game “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate”, this is a game of fighting with too many unlockable characters.

I play when I have leisure time. For to play Smash Bros use “analog joysticks”, with this, for example, must be pressed the “X” button to jump, a combination of “B” and “A” buttons for the fighting, and the button "L" as a shield.

I play video games on the Nintendo Switch as a prize, after exam season. This relaxes me!

I recommended it completely, play fighting video games on the console Nintendo Switch helps de-stress.

English 3, Post 2, 'Why did I choose my major (study program)?'

When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a doctor and visiting the patient with my briefcase, and attending without charging money. I when was little, a Christmas, my grandmother gave me a plastic toy doctor kit… I LOVED IT!

In terms of a university, in the year 2013, I studied another career: “Biotechnology Engineering” at the UTEM. My experience in this was very good, I did chemical lessons, I worked for the university, I had good friends, and I learned too much, in special about the molecular area and laboratory. I graduate in biotechnology, but I did not degree, because this was not what I wanted, since always I liked the health area. I worked in different laboratories, but this bored me.

After a vocational crisis, I decided to study again, but a career that I liked in the health area. I applied to the University in “Chemical and Pharmacy” and I was selected by the special admission for graduates (my time spent was not wasted).

Well, my experience at the university has been good, I like to learn, study, and know about the areas of the chemical pharmacy. Only I need to meet new people and make new friends.
